Grillin' Time

Tonight's Menu: Grilled Food!
Featuring all fresh produce from our garden

To start I made fresh herb and cheese, onion potatoes.
My new love is cast iron on the grill. By pre-cooking the potatoes in the microwave for a minute or two, you can pop them in the cast iron for a nice brown finish.

First I grated (in the food processor) 2 small onions and 5 small potatoes and microwaved them for 2 minutes in a covered dish. I then added fresh chopped herbs and some Parmesan cheese, pepper and salt.

Lightly oiled the cast iron pan and grilled it for about 15min on medium

After taking it of the grill I cut it into pieces and flipped them over to brown the other side.

For our protein I grilled some chicken breast and coated them in BBQ sauce.

Zucchini Fries
The zucchini "fries" are fresh zucchini from our garden sliced into wedges. I then gave them an egg wash and used Italian bread crumbs to coat. I cooked them in the toaster oven (no real oven in the summer, it is too hot) on 350 for about 20min.

Welcome

I am starting another blog! Yes, I am thriled. I want to get at least 4 blogs going, and this one is all about feeding my children.

This blog did exist before, and I am lucky that I saved everything from the blog. Some of that will be recycled, as well as other recipes and tips I have for feeding my children.

On Fridays I will be posting Bento Box Bonanza, which will be the list of lunches/snacks I have packed for my kindergartner. During the week I will be posting favorite recipes, how to-s, and probably some about gardening-as I grow a lot of our food.

So, here we go!
